I'm an AI researcher and software engineer specializing in computer vision, deep learning, and graphics programming. My work bridges academic research with practical engineering, from developing neural networks for remote physiological monitoring to building custom game engines in DirectX and OpenGL.
Currently exploring procedural 3D generation and co-founding Pecus Chain. I was previously VP of Product & Co-founder at ClusTEQ, a BIM platform built on game-engine technology, until July 2026. My research has been published in academic venues, focusing on contactless health monitoring, NLP bias detection, and ethical AI systems.
Off Screen
When I'm not working, I try to get as far from a screen as I reasonably can. Most of that time goes to the gym, a small garden I'm slowly getting better at not killing, and an ongoing obsession with fermentation that's been running for a few years now — kombucha, mead, a ginger bug, and tepache are in more or less constant rotation, and I've gone through phases of sauerkraut and homemade chili sauce too. There's something about a process you can't rush or debug your way through, one that just needs time and the right conditions and otherwise leaves you alone, that's a good counterweight to a day spent writing code. I've killed more batches than I'd like to admit, which I've decided is just part of the process rather than a reason to stop.
None of it happens in isolation, either. Back in Rome I've still got a small group of friends I've known since I was fourteen — the kind of people who've turned into family, through the rough patches as much as the good ones. Moving to the Netherlands didn't shrink that circle, it just made it bigger and a lot more international. I still fly back regularly to see everyone in Rome, and over here I've ended up meeting some of the most genuinely intelligent people I know, a few of whom I now consider close friends too and still make a point of visiting.
Somewhere in the middle of all that I ended up with a Lada Niva — a boxy little 4x4 with basically none of the electronics a modern car has, which is exactly why I love it. I found it a few years ago, and it's been a slow, ongoing project ever since: a good chunk of my free time goes into keeping it running, fixing whatever breaks on it (usually on the ground, usually with whatever tools happen to be in reach), and taking it off-road every chance I get. I've written more about why I think that simplicity is a feature and not a limitation here, but the short version is: I can actually understand this car, top to bottom, and there's very little else in my life I can say that about.
